eBay Sponsor new Capital Radio Breakfast Show
The new Capital Radio Breakfast Show with Roman Kemp was launched last Monday with its brand-new sponsor – eBay. As one of the world leaders in e-commerce, eBay is already a household name, but is looking to inform the radio show's target audience of 15 to 34 year olds about just what they can offer consumers especially in this age range.
Capital Radio
Capital is the UK's number one hit music brand and boasts about 8.5 million listeners every week - about 12% of the UK population, mostly in the above age range. This is giving eBay the perfect opportunity to educate this generation about how eBay is a world leading, effective and easy to use marketplace, where you can buy anything from the latest mobile phone to collectable items, to garden tools and even second hand cars.
According to Gareth Jones, eBay's marketing director, "Partnering with Global’s Capital network presents us with an opportunity to re-educate audiences about who eBay is in 2017. eBay is a shopping destination like no other. The sheer range of items available to buy means that shoppers can find exactly what they are looking for. From that specific thing to pieces that fuel passions and hobbies. eBay has it all."
Previous Experience with Commercial Radio
This isn't eBay's first venture into commercial radio as they have previous experience in advertising on commercial radio. In fact, they boosted their annual spend on commercial radio last year by 500% to have spent a whopping £6m, according to the Radio Centre. This show that it must be an effective way of reaching the consumers that they are looking for. According to Rajar, live radio is second only to television in reaching the ears of the population.
eBay is a highly effective online marketplace, working well for both consumers and store holders. The wide range of items which are for sale means that consumers are rarely disappointed when it comes to finding what they are looking for, and gives e-commerce businesses the ideal platform to be found and sell their products online.
The sponsorship package includes being permanently featured on the Capital Breakfast and Capital XTRA pages on the Capital websites, as well as being featured on the Capital and Capital XTRA social media channels and apps.
With this boost in advertising the future is looking bright for eBay and its millions of sellers. By continually improving, making it easy and safe to use and increasing its reach, eBay, its buyers and sellers can look forward to a successful future.
